Whickham

Whickham is a historic village situated within County Durham, overlooking the River Tyne. The location is semi-rural with the iconic St Mary’s parish church which is the oldest building in Whickham. Whickham is also reported to have the second largest medieval village square in the country.

With a range of highly regarded schooling with ‘outstanding’ inspection ratings, Whickham is an ideal location for family life, paring that with the sense of village community really makes this location a dream. There are a mass range of shops, bars, and restaurants for the community and tourists to enjoy. Just outside Whickham there is Beamish, the Living Museum of the North which is a very popular tourist attraction and a great day out for the children. Other attractions include Thornley Woodlands Centre, Hollinside Manor, Nine Arches Viaduct and Column to Liberty.
