Heaton
Heaton is situated in the East End of Newcastle, close to Jesmond and Byker. Heaton is well known for its coal mining history in the 18th century and student demography. That being said, it does have a mix of working and middle class along with the student residence.
A famous landmark of Heaton is The Wills building which was built in 1946-1950 as a cigarette factory and is now apartments.
There are a range of local amenities including cafes, restaurants, and shops. As Heaton is just a stone’s throw away from Newcastle city centre there are multiple transport links for the commuters taking you into the centre and surrounding.
